为什么我的laptop不能上网？？？

为什么我的laptop不能上网？？？
上次回家时，明明只要连接cable就可以了，可为什么现在不行？？
已经插上cable，连接到modem了，原本一直是limited connectivity，现在终于变成local connectivity了，可是还是不能上网。。。不能连接到internet explorer或mozilla firefox，limited变成local根本没有帮助。。。一直给它troubleshoot却也没有帮助。。。电脑让我plug in the cable，我照做了；让我turn off the modem and on it again，我也照做了，可什么也没发生，最后就给我一句“windows cannot resolve the problems”。。。叉叉的。。。
谁能告诉我，为什么我的laptop不能上网？！？！？！
